Self-Care of Informal Caregivers Inventory (SC-ICI)
The Self-Care of Informal Caregivers Inventory is a validated tool designed for informal caregivers—individuals who provide unpaid physical, emotional, or practical support to family members or friends with chronic illnesses or disabilities. These caregivers often face burdens such as emotional exhaustion, physical strain, disrupted sleep, and neglect of their own health needs. The inventory assesses self-care behaviors across three dimensions: self-care maintenance, self-care monitoring, and self-care management. By identifying areas of self-care neglect, it guides interventions to preserve caregivers’ health and enhance their well-being. The Self-Care of Informal Caregivers Inventory is practical for research and clinical settings.
